Astruc: impressionist exposition 1874

Impressionism, a historical reconstruction:

Zacharie Astruc

(1833-1907)

An impression of his pictures at the

1st ‘impressionist’ exposition in 1874

What pictures did Astruc show at the 1st ‘impressionist’ exposition?
On this page you will find an accounted impression of the 14 art-works that Zacharie Astruc showed at the 1st ‘impressionist’ exposition (catalogue numbers 1-6). Probably all works were aquarelles, not only the 8 indicated in the catalogue as such. None of the pictures were described by the art-critics (R90II,p3). Sometimes the identification is quite certain, but more often it is very uncertain. Even more often I just render other works (also of other artists and photos) to compare. But I hope all this gives you a complete impression of the works he exhibited. See the link for an account. See link for an explanation of the subscriptions. See for the used sources below at the main page about Zacharie Astruc. See also the thematical overview of his pictures. Note: If you double click on the first (of a cluster of) pictures and then click on full screen, you can create a slideshow. On a smartphone or laptop you can also zoom in. Enjoy!
