Bureau: ‘impressionist’ exposition 1876

Impressionism, a historical reconstruction:

Pierre-Isidore Bureau

(1822-1876)

An impression of his pictures at the

2nd ‘impressionist’ exposition in 1876

What pictures did Bureau show at the 2nd ‘impressionist’ exposition?
Pierre(-Isidore) Bureau showed 8 paintings (catalogue numbers 9-16) at the ‘2nd impressionist’ expositions. My sources don’t render suggestions. None of the works were described in the reviews. I found less than 10 works of Bureau, so there is not much to choose from. So, the suggestions I render are very uncertain. For some titles I couldn’t find a work of Bureau that comes close, so I also use works of other artists and photo’s to compare. I this way you have any impression of  all the 8 paintings he exhibited. See link for an account and for the subscriptions. For explanations and sources see at the bottom of the main page about Pierre-Isidore Bureau. Note: If you double click on the first picture and then click on full screen, you can create a small slideshow. On a smartphone or laptop you can also zoom in. Enjoy!
